The first time visiting this resturaunt was on one of their Moroccan Mondays Themed Night!!! The wait staff was super friendly and the FOOD WAS WONDERFUL! The eggplant salad is to die for!!! I was pleased that they offered their regular menu items on that night as well so if someone in your party/family wasn't feeling adventuresom no biggie they can order Italian! An added treat was the entertainment.... On Moroccan Mondays they have BELLYDANCERS!!!

Service - Our waitress was extremely attentive and pleasant. Gave us great recommendations on our dinner and was spot on. Food - Excellent! The calamari wasn't the best I've had but very good. Enjoyed a fresh salad with their homemade dressing. Now onto the Pizza. Simply delicious. We had the margharitta, fresh mozzarella and the crust was perfect. Best pizza I have had in a long time and I eat pizza whenever I can. Beats any pizza I have had home in san diego. Ill definately be back.

First time at the new location. If there is the possibility of doing so, it seems that Rosilita's just picked up and did not miss a step due to the move. We ordered (2 orders) of their lasagna, and I had a turkey sammich. The Lasagna is hand made, served in a ceramic boat. It was large enough that both of my guests had left overs for another meal, handidly. My sammich was toasted well. and piled with enough meats, and filling to make it, as well, an item that turned into two meals. And, (while not on the level of girl scout cookies), we were brought a plate of freshly made garlic knots, which were delightful. Friendly servers. Excellent food. Highly recommended.

As their residential neighbor, we order Rosalita's often. Their food is delicious, affordable, and always with great service. Moe and his family are a welcome addition to the neighborhood! He's even growing his own vegetables along the restaurant.

Have eaten dinner here several times, but have been traveling so we just picked up a pizza on our way home. Dinner has always been good, and the pizza was not a disappointment. And the crust was the best. No pizza bones left tonight.

I'll have to dine in sometime & update this review but I loved my take out experience. Staff was friendly and the owner seemed authentic saying my order in Italian & French in what sounded to my untrained ear as fluently. I had the entree chicken francais and it was large, good and reasonably priced. Their garlic knots are delicious.

We were driving into NN from NC and talking about preferring locally owned businesses (vs chains) when we passed this little restaurant. On their sign it said Closed Sundays... While that would be inconvenient if it had been Sunday, it was proof positive that it was not a chain! Returning later with our family we were visiting, we were delighted with our experience. The staff was very personable and attentive. The food came out in a reasonable time, and was great! The "garlic knots" were little tied-in-a-knot bread balls that arrived as freebie appetizers.. Tasty and unusual! Garnished with a little olive oil, I could have made a meal of these alone! I would call this Very Good American Style Italian food, with all the favorites we enjoy here, like Lasagna, Manicotti, Calzone, Stromboli, etc. But each our group ordered something different and all were surprised by the tastiness, freshness and quantity of food! You can see a picture of one of us looking at the HUGE Stromboli as it arrived! I had a Calzone that also made two meals. And the ingredients and freshness was outstanding. My wife had a Lasagna that was obviously made in-house. My brother-in-law had a seafood Ziti dish that looked wonderful and was reported as being over the top good. All in all a great little restaurant! We will go back next visit to Tidewater!

This little place just moved in to our neighborhood, and it's a beautiful hidden gem! We've tried the pizza and subs, both of which are delicious. A little pricey for an Italian place, but the location for us is convenient. Staff is friendly, dining room is cozy, and they do fast take-out orders. We'll be repeat customers. Updating - we have been several times now. VERY friendly staff who have learned our names. We've tried lots if menu items - but our favorites are the margarita pizza and the philly steak. Try them out!

Loved it! The service was great. I enjoyed how ready they were for our party. The garlic knots were good. I like mine with more garlic and maybe a little salt. They let us bring our own birthday cake and got the whole restaurant to sing happy birthday. It was like a little family. Everything was clean and I loved the paintings on the wall. It has linen napkins and it was a quiet atmosphere of course until we started laughing.

Went in on a Friday night. We had a reservation and were sat down immediately. Started with the bruschetta, which was very good. I ordered the eggplant parmesan at the recommendation of the waitress. The eggplant Parmesan was good, but not hot. The spaghetti it was served with just wasn't good to me, very bland. I didn't care for the roasted veggies either. The salad was pretty good but the house Italian dressing was way too oily. My sister in law had veal parmesan and she didn't even finish it because it was so chewy. Veal should be incredibly tender. I would go back, but it wasn't that memorable.

This year, Rosalita's began introducing "Morcco Night". We missed the first two do to weather and other responsibilities, but we made it last night. We have eaten at two Moroccan themed restaurants in Wash. D.C. and loved them, and there is a Mediterranean style restaurant in Norfolk, but nothing like this on the Peninsula. The first thing we noticed was the painting is all done and the wall murals really make the inside much more appealing than before. We arrived for a 5:30 reservation, a good idea for this special night. The menu for the special occasion was a hand out with a limited menu. The waitress told me they would be doing Morocco night every two weeks and the menu would change. They also said the "belly dancers" would perform starting at 6. We had not expected entertainment. The music had a definite Middle Eastern flavor and having eclectic musical tastes, we were pleased. We began with the simply titled, Moroccan Soup. A lentil soup with chickpeas, cilantro, rice and spices, my wife and I both gave it five stars. A salad made of greens, cilantro, cucumber and red beans followed. My wife thought it had an Italian dressing. It was enjoyable and one I wouldn't mind trying to replicate at home. Out of curiosity, we split an eggplant salad which was delicious. It would have been a great main course served over rice or pasta. It also went well with Rosalita's signature bread knots they serve with their meals. It should be noted, the entire Italian menu was also available to those who were nervous about sampling anything different. My wife had the lamb kabobs, two long skewers with ample quantities of tender and well seasoned lamb served over a couscous and vegetable dish. I had ordered the Lamb Tangine, a kind of lamb pot roast with fall off the bone pieces of lamb in a broth filled with peas, green beans, and potatoes. While I found the broth to be a bit watery and bland, my wife and I tend to split our meals between each other and I am so glad we did. The couscous and veggies she gave me soaked up the broth remaining after I shared my dish with her and the kabob and tangine combined created a flavor far superior than either had on its own. Were I to order this again, I would ask them to add the couscous and veggies to the tangine. The first dancer came out as we were eating our main courses and the music and colorful garb was a nice backdrop to our experience. We left before the second dancer appeared, but we left with a firm plan that we'd return in four to six weeks to see what other flavors of Morocco they might bring to Newport News.

This place was horrible. I do not get why so many people rant and rave about it. We tried it once waited to be seated for about 20 mins ( not bad) the ac was out so it was hot as hell. Then we r told as we r being seated from the time we order it will be 50 mins till u get ur food. We said forget it. We gave it a second try and we got seated right away got drinks and apps quickly put our dinner order In, 55 mins later still no food haven't seen our waitress since putting our order in , dirty dishes and empty drinks the whole time on the table, Then when my husband tracked down our waitress she had no explanation. Just that we can only cook so much when we r busy. R u kidding me!!? Get more cooks ! Finally we got our food and I was given the wrong thing and hubby's was nasty ! Never again will we go here... Won't even give one star but I guess on here I have too

On October 25, 2014 my husband and I thought we would try Rosalita's Italian Restaurant. We both ordered our food and I went in to use the bathroom and noticed one of the workers helping a handicapped lady on and off the toilet. Then the worker goes into the stall to show me the toilet lid was very loose then slides her hands all around that nasty dirty toilet.... she walked out WITHOUT washing her hands! I said something to the waitress about it and she said "Oh, that's the owner of this restaurant" She's the owner she should know better! When our food arrived (I ordered Chicken Alfredo) it was watered down runny. I took two bites and didn't finish. I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE!

Just moved to the Hilton area. We've been interested in finding our new favorite neighborhood pizza place so as we were driving by we saw that Rosalita's had a special for a large 2 topping pizza for $8.99. I called to order and was informed that they do not deliver after 3pm because they do not have enough people to offer this service. I ordered a large pepperoni/mushroom pizza with extra sauce and the antipasto salad with house dressing. Everything was very disappointing. The pizza was not good - the crust was bland, there was barely any sauce, and the sauce that I did taste had no flavor at all. The ingredients in the salad were ok, but the dressing - it was a container of oil. There were no seasonings, no vinegar - it was just oil. A side of garlic knots were also included. Being a lover of bread and garlic, I was surprised that I could not even eat one of the knots. I was so unhappy with the quality of this food that I was on my way to take back the food to the restaurant but my boyfriend stopped me. I decided that a yelp review would have to do. I would have been happier ordering from Dominos.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
